Aldeburgh Botanic is a planet first small business owned by Jo Durham. By using biodegradable and compostable rapeseed wax to carefully hand-pour my scented candles and tea lights, I can ensure the impact on the environment is the lowest it can be. Rapeseed is an amazing sustainable wax made from the bright yellow crops grown locally to me. The stunning fields of rapeseed plants found across East Anglia are loved by bees, re-invigorates the fields with nutrients, and the wax is both animal and environmentally friendly. I was inspired to use rapeseed wax when I discovered that some other plant waxes are made from plants which only grow a long way from the UK and the raw materials may have travelled many, many miles and have contributed to deforestation before reaching the UK.
The glorious fragrances you can enjoy in my candles and diffusers are made from high quality oils sourced and blended in the UK. This enables me to produce a consistent strong fragrance with a low environmental footprint. The packaging and labels I use are made from recycled and recyclable materials and are also sourced in the UK. In addition, my diffusers are made from materials that are registered with the Vegan Society and I also use eco-friendly reeds. I never use products that are tested on animals and I always strive to support other small businesses. Aldeburgh Botanic - candles and diffusers that don't cost the earth!
