Rachel Snowdon is a London-born printmaker and illustrator who has lived and worked in West Devon since 2009. Specialising in traditional linocut techniques, her craft explores the nostalgia and wonder of ornamental Victorian aesthetics and early 20th century design, botanical illustration, and whimsical, folkloric motifs.
Her training includes a BA in Fine Art and an MA in Photography, both acquired at Central Saint Martins, London, and has previously exhibited at The Old Operating Theatre; The Tate Modern; OXO Tower Wharf; and internationally.
Rachel produces wall prints, stationery, and drawing books, all in small-batch, limited editions. She will also work with clients on bespoke and collaborative designs. Everything is entirely handmade and hand-printed in her home studio. The lino she carves is made from biodegradable wood flour, hessian, and linseed oil - and wherever possible, she sources British-made and plastic-free materials.
