My work embraces the crossover space between art, craft and design; I like to make objects that play with our sense of what is familiar, what is functional and what is decorative. Molten and cooled glazes form the surfaces of objects. Glossy, satin, matte and dry glazes flow, fuse and compose imagery from chemistry. Surfaces hint of aquascapes, or places where scale and form are less obvious. I hope my ceramic pieces give way to an exploratory feel.
I have always wanted to be a full time artist. After many years of developing my ceramic skills and artistic vision, whilst juggling other jobs, I turned my love of ceramics into a full time job. I love running my own art business, and I love sharing it with people at craft fairs.
