Fascinated with otherworldly rock formations shaped by hundreds of years of wind and rain in the Klein Karoo and the dramatic cliffs of the Drakensberg Mountains, my jewellery reflects the connection I feel to the landscapes I grew up in.
Road trips from the Gauteng Province to the Western Cape provided dramatically contrasting landscapes and inspired my curiosity in the architecture in nature. I draw inspiration from the cracks and asymmetrical angles in these landscapes and design sculptural jewellery that reflects the scenes from the surface of where my metals where mined.
I carefully select and cut the stones for these pieces into unique one of kind freeform shapes that continue the reflections of these escarpments.
Handmade jewellery is the outcome of a personal journey; it is the conclusion of hours and hours of errors and experimentation, times of frustration and pure joy.
It is important to me to create jewellery with an emphasis on design and longevity with an investment in the quality of craftsmanship… buying less but better.
