Welcome to the wonderful world of Woodle books, where stationery is made to last a lifetime.
Woodle books was set up by Aimee in 2017 after her love for all things stationery, books and paper fuelled her to start her own creative studio.
Having trained at Windsor Castle, working on the Royal Collection, Aimee had a prestigious start to her bookbinding career and learnt the principles and ethos she works with today, simply put, a book, regardless its use, should last as long as you do. Working to these principles Woodle Books creates unique modern and contemporary designed books handmade the classic way to last a lifetime. These aren't just any old notebooks.
Using the same principles she was taught at Windsor, the notebooks Aimee makes are all hand sewn, either by her or her team, with the same age-old techniques used to make and preserve the most precious books in the world. This level of care continues into the materials Woodle Books chooses to use, only paper and cloth that have been vigorously tested make it into a Woodle Book and sustainability is important too with the paper used for the book blocks at least 50% recycled fibres.
Aimee and Woodle Books are all about female empowerment and positivity, all of the beautiful endpapers are personally sourced from female designers and craftspeople, for example the lovely marbled papers are from Jemma, one of the few professional marblers left, and it's through theses collaborations Aimee tries to bring this message of empowerment and support.
The bookbinding cloth and materials have been chosen because they are as hard wearing as they are beautiful, and everything made is tactile and created to be touched, held and loved.
Aimee has put a lot of thought into the size and weight of the books, their sizes are not by chance. The thickness of the book blocks have been constructed to comfortably fit into your hand and bags, the plain notebooks are produced to lay completely flat so artists have no trouble working in them. It's these challenges and solutions that excites Aimee and the books she makes and this passion is shown in the quality and unique designs, simply put they are what makes Woodle Books special.
