We are very much looking forward to welcoming you to Crafty Fox at The Crossing on Saturday 16th or Sunday 17th December. You will find the trader listings for the event here so do take a look to familiarise yourself with your fellow traders ahead of the market.
Contacts: Your contact is Sinead (07813981564). Sinead is the founder of Crafty Fox Market and has been at the helm of our events for over a decade, so you are in excellent hands! There will also be a number of support staff there to welcome you and to help with any issues.
Venue: The fair is taking place within the Granary Building’s vast entrance hall called The Crossing, at Central St Martins, 1 Granary Square, London, N1C 4AA. The Granary Building is the iconic structure flanking Granary Square, although the market is indoors, the space can get very cold as there are a number of entrances so please wrap up warm for the day.
Stalls:
Please click here for a draft table plan for Saturday 16th December.
Please click here for a draft table plan for Sunday 17th December.
The table plan is subject to change.
Your stall consists of a standard 6’ x 2.5’ trestle table and one chair.
As with all our markets, you are welcome to bring display structures to place on top of your table to create interest and height at no extra cost. Please ensure any structures which sit on top of your table / stall are securely fastened or clamped to prevent them falling.
Please note that this will be a very open plan display method with most of the stands arranged in back to back rows. The stands will be numbered. Please seek out one of our stewards upon arrival who will guide you to your table.
Stands are not equipped with an electricity supply.
Please remember that the ethos of Crafty Fox is supporting designer makers and handmade goods. In the past, one or two traders have mixed imported goods in with their own items. Please stick to self-made/handmade goods only to uphold the integrity of the event.
Set up:
Set up on the day of the event is from 9.30am, and your stand must be ready in advance of 11am when the event is scheduled to start. We ask also that you stay till the end of the event at 5pm. At the end of the event please take away all your rubbish with you. We are trying to run a sustainable event generating as little rubbish as possible. The Waitrose next door doesn’t open until midday on a Sunday so please don’t rely on it for supplies!
Additional structures:
Please note that if you plan on bringing any additional free-standing structures which are not sitting directly on the table top (including art browsers, clothing rails, shelving units, peg boards, etc) these must be paid for in advance so that we know where to place these on our table plan. Walkways have to be kept clear of obstructions at all times to allow for good crowd flow and to prevent delay in evacuation should there be an emergency.
Please get in touch Catherine at catherine.palmer@craftyfoxmarket.co.uk if you are yet to book these structures onto your stall reservation. We will ask for additional payment on the day if additional structures haven’t been booked in advance.
Other information:
Please wrap up warm as the space can get very cold.
Please bring additional battery powered lighting to highlight your stall after sunset. The space can get very dark which can limit your ability to make sales and engage with customers.
Please ensure to keep all walkways clear when setting up your stall to avoid possible trip hazards for yourself and those around you.
No naked flames are allowed so if you are displaying items which use candles, please ensure you use battery powered alternatives.
If you are bringing structures or signage to put on top of your stall table, please ensure to consider the possibility of the structure / sign falling and causing injury. We advise you to bring clamps or other fixing devices to ensure that your table top is secure in the event of a customer or fellow trader accidentally knocking into it.
Bring plenty of water with you as refill spots are not easily accessible from the venue.
There are toilets in Coal Drops Yard, at the back of Canopy Market or in Waitrose from Midday.
Transport:
If you are arriving by public transport, the location is just north of King’s Cross tube. Walk to the end of King’s Boulevard, cross the canal and The Granary Building is right in front of you. The Crossing where the event is taking place is accessed from three sides of the building.
Arrival by car:
If you are driving, access is via Handyside Street that runs to the rear of the Granary Building. As you turn left onto Stable St, please note that there may be bollards up in the road to prevent people driving down who don’t have access. There should be a steward at the bollards who will move them for you if you note you are trading with Crafty Fox Market. Drive through the bollards to the drop off area.
If you will be driving to the venue with your stock please choose one of the following arrival slots:
9.30am
9.45am
10am
Car arrival slots are allocated on a first come first served basis. To confirm your slot, please add your trading name against the relevant time on this document.
If you are coming by public transport there is no need for you to confirm your arrival time.
Please note that there is no parking at the venue. You are only able to park briefly to unload. There are a number of local car parks. The nearest is as follows: https://www.kingscross.co.uk/kings-cross-car-park
There is also free parking on SUNDAYS on a number of residentials streets close by, you can check these here.
Cash:
There are cash machines for visitors within Waitrose.
There is also a free local Kings Cross Wi-Fi connection available for mobile transactions, although this can be patchy so you may need to use 4G via your phone to operate your card reader.
Toilets:
There are dedicated toilets onsite, within West Handyside Canopy, at the back of Canopy Market, for stallholders and guests. Please bring enough water and food with you to keep you going throughout the day.
Marketing:
Please help to spread the word and the buzz amongst your friends, family and contacts in the remaining few days. Find us on Instagram / Twitter / Facebook @craftyfoxmarket. The success of a market partly relies on everyone working together to promote the event!
The event has now been listed on Facebook - please encourage your audience to join the event as it really helps with marketing: https://fb.me/e/1yA4qoheB. You can also find the event listed on Peddle: https://pedddle.com/market/crafty-fox-market-at-the-crossing/
As we are sure you are aware, the success of the market is dependent on our community of traders talking about, sharing and promoting the event as much as possible to your own audiences too, so please do use the materials and event links as much as you can.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
On the day, if you find you are running late, please text Sinead (07813981564) on Sunday. If we do not hear from you by 10.45am, we will reallocate your space.
