I create unique statement leather jewellery and accessories using a unique leather marquetry technique, which involves cutting each piece of leather precisely by hand rather like a jigsaw before stitching. I love working with leather as it is a quality material but it comes with a relatively high carbon footprint, this is why I try to maintain a no-waste attitude to my work with an emphasis on using off-cuts and recycled leather from fashion garments that would otherwise be destined for landfill.
My style is fun, colourful, bold and illustrative, I design and make all of my products in my studio in Essex. I am very much inspired by animals and nature especially flowers, which feature heavily in my work. I make a variety of products such as hand sculpted leather flower hair pieces, large statement necklaces & corset belts. I like to produce statement pieces and view my work as a form of wearable art.
